Per NCSOA bylaws, the board will purchase each official liability insurance through NFHS or a similar organization. The NCSOA will purchase insurance for returning members after the member has registered and paid the registration fee. The NCSOA will purchase insurance fornew membersafter the applicant has paid the membership registration fee and metallregistration requirements.
If a member of the NCSOA already has an NFHS (or similar) insurance policy, he/she is entitled to a partial refund/discount of their registration fee equal to the cost of the premium (currently $25). Non-NFHS Insurance must include similar policy limits and cover all CIF soccer games/events. The treasurer will make the determination if a non-NFHS policy meets the needed requirements. Appeals of the treasurer’s decision may be made to the NCSOA board.
To qualify and receive a refund/discount on registration fee the official must provide verification of registration with NFHS to the NCSOA Treasurer prior to purchase of insurance for NCSOA members (typically in early October).
As of October 2018, the organizations listed below purchase NFHS insurance for their members. Verification can be provided by forwarding a registration confirmation email dated between March and October of the current year to the NCSOA treasurer.
It is solely the responsibility of the member to verify that the insurance provided by a 3rd party meets NCSOA requirements, regardless if their association is or was on the approved list.
In general, once insurance has been purchased, full registration fee refunds cannot be issued. For more information see the NCSOA refund policy.
